Hey guys, interested in visiting Bordeaux and looking for the best Instagrammable spots and photo locations in Bordeaux, France? Look no further – I’ve got you covered. In this guide, you will find all the best Instagrammable places in the city so that you can take some gorgeous photos in Bordeaux.

In my previous post, I found 10 reasons why Bordeaux is the best city to visit in France, in case you’re interested to read, what these reasons are, please head to this post HERE. Long story short, Bordeaux is a great city for anyone interested in architecture, culture, art and wine. It has incredible restaurants, great bars and the world’s best wine! We visited Bordeaux in February for a weekend, and it was lovely! We stayed in a super Instagrammable millennial hotel Mama Shelter (definitely check it out) – it was in the heart of Bordeaux and had a really great terrace.

We also had a Bordeaux city pass from Visit Bordeaux (we received it for free through the collaboration with the tourism board), so it helped us to visit a couple of Instagrammable locations in Bordeaux free of charge!

However, this post is all about the best photo locations in Bordeaux, so without further ado, let’s get started!

Most Instagrammable spots in Bordeaux, France: best photo location in Bordeaux

Creperie La Fromentine

One of the most Instagrammable spots in Bordeaux is the Creperie La Fromentine – it’s beautiful dark red storefront is a perfect spot for photos. If you’re starving, you can also get in and eat some delicious crepes there.

The view from the top of the Tour Pey-Berland

Yes, it does take some 225 steps in the narrow staircase with plenty of people coming up and even more people going down at the same time (so it gets very narrow and not 100% safe I’d say); however, the view is totally worth it! On a sunny day, the view is marvellous, but even if it’s raining, you’ll get to see how beautiful is Bordeaux.

Cathedrale Saint-Andre

Another of the Instagrammable places in Bordeaux is the Cathedral of Saint-Andre – a really gorgeous Cathedral close to the Mama Shelter hotel right in the heart of the city centre. The cathedral is closed for a mess on Sunday (well, a part of it is open), however, it’s gorgeous from the outside!

Porte Cailhau

Among the best photo locations in Bordeaux is the famous Porte Cailhau – the most beautiful city gate I’ve seen in my life! Head there in the morning or the afternoon, so there are not that many people in front of it.

The main square of Bordeaux – Place De La Bourse

The main square of Bordeaux is one of the most beautiful places in the city. However, it’s also one of the busiest spots. It goes without saying, that just like in case with other Instagrammable places in Bordeaux, you need to come to the Place De La Bourse very early to take a photo without the crowds, especially if you’re visiting Bordeaux during the high season!

Grosse Cloche

Grosse Cloche is a very photogenic clock tower in the city centre of Bordeaux. It’s located in a narrow street, between two rows of beautiful medieval buildings and it looks really stunning. Head there in the morning when there’s no one to take a great photo there.

The streets of Bordeaux Old Town

The streets of Bordeaux Old Town are really pretty and are a great location for photos. Just walk around the Old City to find the perfect spot for yourself. If you want some really good photos with empty streets, try to head to the city centre on Saturday or Sunday morning, around 8am, so you can find the streets empty and welcoming.

The flower shops of Bordeaux

Bordeaux has the flower shops that are almost as beautiful as the ones in Milan (head to this post about the most Instagrammable spots in Milan). However, the flower shops of Bordeaux have their own charm. I saw this beautiful shop very close to the Porte Cailhau.

weekend in Bordeaux

Cite Du Vin and the food market nearby

If you’re visiting Bordeaux, there are high chances that you will visit the famous Cite Du Vin! The shape of the museum is quite unique, and it looks really stunning in the sunlight. However, the best photo spot around the Cite Du Vin is actually the terrace on the last floor, where you can try a wine of your choice and see the panorama of Bordeaux. You will be quite far away from the city centre, so don’t expect the view similar to the one from Tour Pey-Berland (sorry, that one is unmatchable!), however, you will see the entire city, and it’s fantastic!

Another great spot nearby is the food hall located just outside the Cite Du Vin (cross the road, and you’ll see it). It’s usually busy with locals because this place is excellent!

Beautiful cafes and coffee shops of Bordeaux

And finally, the last, but not least of the best photo locations in Bordeaux, France are the beautiful cafes and coffee shops of Bordeaux. Oh, my, there are many! I fell in love with this light blue facade, and it’s just a perfect spot for a photo! If that’s not enough, head to Michel’s (you can also have lunch there – it was the tastiest meal I ever had in France, so I would 100% recommend the place) – it’s green storefront is also very lovely!

Best Instagrammable spots in Bordeaux, France + amazing photo locations

Of course, there are more Instagrammable places in Bordeaux and unusual photo locations around the city, however, I could only cover 10 during my weekend in Bordeaux (read my post why Bordeaux is the best city to visit in France). I would recommend you to bring some comfortable shoes and go for a walk in the city centre, and, believe me, you will find plenty of fantastic photo locations around Bordeaux!
