In this post, I will tell you about the most beautiful and best-located hotel in Toulouse – Grand Hotel De L’Opera.

We arrived in Toulouse early in the morning: the flight from London took off at 7 am, leaving us with almost no sleep at night. When you travel, however, you don’t realise how tired you are, especially if the place you’re exploring is exciting. We didn’t have any expectations – too high expectations ruin tips, relationships and pretty much everything.

Toulouse, however, was gorgeous. I very rarely say that about the cities I visit. I only have 3 countries to visit in Europe, before I can say that I’ve visited them all. So when I say the city is gorgeous I mean it. Everything about Toulouse was great – architecture, atmosphere, not many tourists. London can be overwhelming somethings, so it was great to take a break and stay in such a lovely city. Especially if you stay in a hotel like Grand Hotel De L’Opera!

Gorgeous lobby at Grand Hotel De L'Opera
It was really easy to find the hotel – head to the main square and… you will see it. The location literally couldn’t have been better. And if you’re worried about the airport transfer – you can take a taxi or a tram + metro (and the metro station is just one minute away).

The lobby of Grand Hotel De’L Opera was stunning – you can easily have a photo shooting there with the classic French interior. The check-in was smooth and everybody was really friendly and spoke English perfectly (in case you don’t speak French, don’t worry, you won’t have problems at all). Even though we arrived 2 hours prior the official check-in time, our room was ready and we were able to relax for a while after the early flight.

I liked the room a lot – it was primarily in saturated red/ brown tones and looked really classy. The bed was really nice – I’m not an expert in beds, so I can’t tell you if it’s king or queen size, but it was AT LEAST twice bigger than the standard double bed we have at home. And the mattress was really comfy, so no sleepless nights.

We had a couple of chocolates and biscuits awaiting us in the room – such a nice treat from the hotel! And a Nespresso coffee machine, which we used right away to prepare a nice and strong coffee (see, I don’t like early flights because.. well, I’m really sleepy in the mornings!).

We also had a set of shampoos/toiletries in the bathroom and two really comfy bathrobes. However, the best thing about the bathroom was the fact, that it was separated from the toilet. That means no queues in the evening/morning (as we always fight with Pepe, who is going to use the bathroom first).

The breakfast was also great in the morning – 3 different types of juices, fruits, muesli, hot scrambled eggs, cheeses and all the breakfast essentials. The pastries were awesome too!

Everything about the Grand Hotel De L’Opera was great – service, friendliness, location, cleanliness, breakfast, design and to be honest with you, we didn’t want to leave the hotel at all. So if you’re looking for a great and classy hotel in Toulouse city centre, I would definitely recommend you Grand Hotel De L’Opera. You can always find the best rates at their website – check the availability of the rooms at the hotel here!
