Best activities and tours from Hurghada:
The coral reefs of the Red Sea could be seriously just 50-100 meters away from the entrance to the sea, so you can perfectly swim there and see amazing colourful fishes surrounding you. Our beach in Makadi Bay had plenty of them. In case your hotel doesn’t have coral reefs, it makes sense to take one of the snorkelling tours. We were booking all our tours in Egypt via Get Your Guide and totally recommend it to you -the price for the snorkelling tour could be below 10 euros! Check the availability now!
2. Safari tours
The famous Safari tours from Hurghada usually cost from 10 to 40 euros per person and last from 3 to 8 hours. In the vehicle of your choice (4×4, some strange cars like in the Mad Max movie and quad bikes) you go to the Bedouin village, have a traditional tea, ride a camel and later go to this village for a dinner. The earlier you book, the cheaper the price will be and more chances, that the tours will be available on your selected date. Check the availability of safari tours now.
3. Trips to Luxor and Cairo
Some of the best Hurghada tours are 1-day or 2-day tours to Luxor or Cairo. Please note, that they are very tiring, as it takes up to 5-6 hours to go to Luxor from Hurghada (one way) and 6-7 to Cairo. There are tours to Cairo by plane too, but instead of 30-80 euros per person prepare to pay at least 150.
4. Boat tours
You can take plenty of boat tours from Hurghada in order to see dolphins, to snorkel and even to see the fishes, including yellow submarine with the transparent walls, so you can see all these colourful fishes surrounding you.
5. Cruising the Nile
Some of the most exotic and expensive tours from Hurghada are the Nile cruises, that take at least 2-3 days and are quite pricey – on GetYourGuide, where we booked some of our activities, they were around 400-500€ per person. On, Viator, however, the prices are different. Check the prices and the availability now.
6. Water park tours
There are a couple of water parks around Hurghada, the best and the biggest of them being Makadi Waterworld, which was located literally in our hotel, Jaz Aquaviva. If you want to visit the water park for free – stay in one of the Jaz Makadi hotels – there is a free shuttle to the water park every 30 minutes. However, if you’re staying somewhere else and still want to visit the waterpark – it makes sense to buy a tour to the waterpark (because of its location, it’s quite hard to reach from anywhere).
That’s pretty much it – there are not that many things you can go to Hurghada besides just relaxing and hopefully enjoying your stay. Do you know any other tours from Hurghada that are worth taking? Don’t hesitate to mention them in the comments as well as your experience with the tours above. Please note, that some of the links are affiliate, that means we will receive a small commission at no extra cost for you! We will use this commission to keep and maintain this website!

We visited Egypt years ago and snorkelling by the hotel was so good that we never wanted to leave. We only did one tour to the desert in the whole week. Haven’t seen anything of the country and would love to go back one day. Have to check your post about safety, but I guess it’s like everywhere – you have to be really unlucky to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Thanks for sharing such a nice post. Keep sharing your knowledge. Keep it up.
It is a well-written post….!!! Thanks for sharing. Keep it up.
Cruising the Nile would be an ultimate dream.
